Young replaces Jeff Price, who spent the last 10 seasons with the school but resigned on March 30.
Young is a former standout for Georgia Southern, having started 97 consecutive games over three years at point guard and played from 1989-93. In the three- year span, he posted averages of 14.8 points and 4.9 assists.
Young spent the last four seasons as an assistant coach at Georgia Tech, and has also had coaching stops at Jacksonville, Northeastern, Tennessee- Chattanooga and Auburn.

Terrell Owens could return for Cowboys next game
A bye week will allow Terrell Owens broken hand to recover just in time for the next game the Dallas Cowboys are slated to play, according to reports. MySportsbook.com, an football sportsbook, has posted football betting lines on TO playing.
